Elvis 'sang to a naked Tom Jones'

Welsh star Sir Tom Jones has revealed he was serenaded by another legend of music.

The housewives' favourite told the Sun that he received a surprise while taking a pre-gig shower - a private performance from Elvis Presley.

According to the source the King wanted to try out a song on Sir Tom, but could not wait until he had finished bathing.

The singer told the newspaper: "I was in the shower and I could hear Elvis Presley singing. When I opened my eyes he was leaning over the door singing to me. I didn't have any clothes on.

"Sexbomb Sir Tom revealed this happened before a show in Las Vegas, adding Elvis may have got a glimpse of more than the Welshman's stage show on that night, with the crooner stating, "I think he was checking me out".

Earlier this week, it was announced that the legendary Briton will take a role in comedy flick The Codfather, joining fellow countrymen Rob Brydon and Rhys Ifans.

Piers defends Jade

Piers Morgan has hit out at critics who have claimed Jade Goody is exploiting her cancer battle.

The former Big Brother contestant has been in the public eye since being diagnosed with the disease, with reports last week confirming that her condition is terminal.

Morgan - who is currently promoting his new ITV chat show - has defended Goody's decision to remain in the media, saying she only has the best interests of her children at heart.

He said: "I think people who accuse Jade of milking the situation should just shut up.

"I don't think you milk a situation where you just have months to live and you need to provide for your children.

"Jade's publicist Max Clifford recently claimed that she is looking to make as much money as possible before she dies to support her two sons.

Mr Clifford said she wanted to give them the best education possible.

Chris Brown apologises for Rihanna row

Chris Brown has issued an apology for the incident that took place between him and his former partner Rihanna.

The Umbrella star was forced to cancel several appearances after Brown allegedly physically attacked her.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Brown said he is being counseled by his pastor and his family, but added that much of what has been reported on the subject is untrue.
Brown said: "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired.

"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong.

He added that he would like to elaborate further, but is unable to do until all legal issues are resolved.

Brown's father has maintained that there are "two sides to every story".

It was recently reported that police are investigating a period last year when Rihanna wore an eye-patch, to determine whether Brown may have been implicated.

Tracie Simpson, the show's producer, said: "We rarely take Doctor Who abroad, although we did visit Rome for series four's 'The Fires Of Pompeii', which gave us some spectacular footage.

She added that the locations in Dubai are "perfect" for the vision which Russell T Davies has created.

Carty 'taking the mick' on Dancing On Ice

Todd Carty has revealed that he did not take his appearance on hit talent show Dancing On Ice too seriously.

Carty – who found fame as Tucker Jenkins on kid favourite Grange Hill before going on to a long stint on Eastenders – was voted off the ITV show on Sunday.

He said his experience as an actor helped him approach the programme as a "light-hearted" performance.

"I wanted to bring fun and humour to the show - people can take these things too seriously. People at home want to laugh," he said.

"The whole point of the show is that it's about famous people from across the spectrum trying to dance.

"However, he admitted that he did not plan the fall which occurred when he was trying to perfect his final moves.

Former X-Factor runner-up Ray Quinn is currently the bookmakers' favourite to win the series, following his latest routine with dance partner Maria Filippov.

Gwyneth Paltrow to release cookbook

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is to write a cookbook with an emphasis on enjoying food as a family.

Planned for release next year, My Father's Daughter will focus on "the importance of togetherness at mealtime, emphasising that cooking for your family is the ultimate expression of love", according to its publishers.

It is thought it will include some of the star's favourite macrobiotic recipes.

The book is the Oscar-winner's latest move into the world of food, following a recent documentary series with chef Mario Batali in which the pair travelled across Spain sampling local cuisine.

Speaking about his co-star, Batali said the Iron Man actress loves and understands good food, adding: "I had high expectations of her and she exceeded them. She's curious. She wanted to know about this stuff. She eats."

Gwyneth has previously stated that she got her love of cooking from her late father Bruce, but really got involved with food once her daughter Apple, now four, was born.

Posh 'in X-Factor talks'

Victoria Beckham is reportedly in discussions to join the judging panel on the forthcoming series of The X-Factor.

According to the Daily Mail, Victoria has been approached in the past about joining the programme but has always turned it down due to other commitments.

However, she is said to have been made an offer of £1 million a series and may now replace the Aussie star.

A friend said: "She doesn't want to come back to Europe with her tail between her legs. But if she can return here to be on The X-Factor, then that is different."

It has recently been reported that the Beckhams are planning a permanent move back to Europe.

Victoria has recently said that she is coming round to the idea of living in Milan.
