Tina Turner to tour for first time in years

Tina Turner is to embark on her first tour in eight years in the autumn, kicking off in Kansas City.

The big-haired songstress will begin the shows in North America, but reports suggest she may add dates in Europe and around the world.

Tina made the revelation while recording an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's show, in front of an audience of 4,000.

She is expected to make an official announcement when the show airs next week, with tickets likely to be on sale by May 12th.

The star performed with Beyonce last February at the Grammy's, where she was introduced on stage simply as "the queen".

Her last tour in 2000 was said to be her last, and grossed $110 million (£55 million). At the time, it was the top-selling tour by a female artist, although this record has since been topped by Madonna and Cher.
